  1. I really enjoy all of the history that you have found. Margaret McCall Thomas Ward is my mother. How are we related and what is Warren Evans relationship to the McCall’s. Are we also related familialy to Cliff Graham?

    1. Hello Edward. Margaret’s grandmother, Mary Allen McCall was my great grandmother Jennie Virginia Allen Turner’s sister. They were both the children of Eliza Allen. They had different father’s. Mary’s father was Milton Saffold, who at one time enslaved Eliza. Jennie’s father was Dock Allen, Eliza’s husband after she was freed.
Your grandfather, James Edward McCall was my grandmother Fannie Turner Graham’s first cousin. Margaret and my mother Doris Graham Cleage were second cousins. We are third cousins.
Warren Cleage Evans is not related to the McCalls. His mother was Gladys Cleage, she and my father Rev. Albert B. Cleage, Jr. were siblings. He and I are first cousins on the Cleage side. I am related to you on my mother’s side.
My mother’s father, Mershell C. Graham, was not blood related to Cliff Graham. Mershell C. Graham was not related to you as we are related through my mother’s mother, Fannie. You can email me at kcleage@gmail.com if you want to talk more.
Good to hear from you. I really miss your mother.
