Hi Kristin,
Found my grandfather’s (Lloyd A. Loomis) picture on the photo you posted of the Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter from Detroit circa 1926. Thank you for your beautiful and thoughtful blog with all the Detroit history and your families’ history. I know our families crossed many paths together, my Mother talked about growing up with your Mother and then your Mom was my teacher at Roosevelt. I have wanted to do something similar to your Blog for my family as the Loomis’ go back to 1860 in Detroit but have been unable to get started. As I read through your Blog you gave me hope, inspiration and great ideas. Take care and keep doing what you do.

Linda,
I looked for your grandfather but I can hardly read most of the names. I’m glad you like the blog and look forward to reading yours in the near future!
He’s in the 3rd row down, 6th from the left, right next to the writing.
Great history. I will send the Alpha Phi Alpha Picture to the Gamma Lambda Chapter.
There is an original copy somewhere but I don’t have it.
