Amanda Cleag received her widow’s pension, commencing May 11, 1908 she received $12 a month. When her pension stopped on her death, August 8, 1921, it was $30 a month.

I wonder what the COLAs would be now.

$496.61 would be the value today. I don’t know what the COLA would be. You can find out the current value of dollar amounts from earlier time periods by using Google to find a historic calculator.
Thanks Kathy. I was thinking of what widows would receive now, but knowing what $30 is worth today makes me hope today’s miltiary widows are getting more than $496 since the cost of living is so much higher than it was in 1920.
A widows pension in 2022 is not $496 but not much more especially if the widow has other income!
