For this year’s April A-Z Challenge I am blogging everyday using items taken from the letters written by my grandfather to my grandmother from 1907 to 1912, starting with “A” and moving right through the alphabet to “Z” during April.

Am sure this will not reach you in time for you to answer. Anyway – I’ll take a chance and come out tomorrow night. Look for me!!

These are AMAZING.
I had to laugh when I came across this one. There was a playfulness that wasn’t evident in the others.
I love how Albert worked the postcard title into his own message. These days I wouldn’t trust sending a card today in hopes of meeting up tomorrow.
Neither would I. Luckily, we have other options now.
Ah, the wonders of twice a day mail delivery. I’m having fun going through some old post cards from the early 1900s. Must figure out if I can work them into my postings.
I’m sure there’s a way to work them in!
Albert is showing his sense of humour again.
He must have been the founding humorist.
I’m curious – do you have your grandmother’s replies to all his letters as well?
Unfortunately, I don’t. Wish I did. Several boxes of letters got lost or left when the family moved after decades in the same place. Wish I could go back and take a look.
