A Finger and a Sail Boat

Henry is taking me out on Lake Idlewild in the little sailboat. It was used to practice the skills needed to sail the big sailboat on the Detroit River. You can read about that boat here -> Sailing Log Detroit River – 1970

      1. That was what I wanted to ask–whether you did sail it and then graduate to the bigger boat. I did a little sailing in my teens and it was exhilarating, but I never did it enough to develop any real skills.
Also, you look gorgeous in that photo!

        1. I already had one toddler in this photo and I never had the mental space or freedom from little kids to focus on learning. If id had the chance as a teen I think I would have loved it.

  1. Perfect marks! And extra credit for saving it too! My dad never discarded photos like this and often kept them in a separate stack or box. I still come across them and think WHY? Why save a bad photo? Maybe to drive me crazy and make me laugh decades later.

    1. I have lots of those kinds of photos too! Often they are the only ones taken on that day or at that event so I’m glad they were saved. Not to mention coming in handy for SepiaSaturday 🙂
