For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I will be posting an event for that date involving someone in my family tree. Of course it will also involve the letter of the day. It may be a birth, a death, a christening, a journal entry, a letter or a newspaper article. If the entry is a news item, it will be transcribed immediately below. Where to move
My youngest son Cabral Williams thinking about his next move during the Ludington Optimist Chess Tournament held Saturday at the Ludington High School Library. Children 16 and under participated in the annual event.

When we lived in Idlewild, Michigan, both of my sons participated in the annual Chess Tournament. You can read more about that at C – CHESS

i love this picture !!
He looks so intense.
How old was he in that picture? I have not played chess in maybe 10 years. I need to dust off my set.
He was seven. Your father will probably play with you. He needs the practice to beat Harold next time they play.
He is thinking hard. It is a lovely photo.
It is one of my favorite photos of Cabral.
Terrific photo! My brother and I were taught how to play chess by our grandfather before we were old enough to read. We’ve recently picked it up again. Mostly, we play on-line, but I met him at a bakery yesterday to play in person.
That sounds like a good place to meet for chess. I hope you had a tasty treat to eat while you played.
He is so focused! Has he continued playing? I’ve never learned to play chess.
I’m not sure, but I think so.
Super-sweet. What a beautiful expression on his face. (I wish I had learned to play chess in my childhood. If I had, I might be able to plan things a few moves ahead.)
I don’t play any more because it’s too hard to plan those few moves ahead.
