New Year’s Day Sermon 1967

Although this sermon was preached on New Year’s Day in 1967, as I listen to it, I think it could have been preached today. On that day we didn’t know that the Detroit rebellion was ahead. On this day we don’t know what is ahead for us.

  1. This was incredibly powerful from 58 years ago to the present! I never heard your father’s voice before – what a gift to step into today!

    1. Kind of sad that it’s still so relevant today, but truly a gift to have it. I often wonder what my father and uncles would say about what’s happening today. Often I just need to listen to what they said all those years ago to find the answer.

  2. Thank you for posting. So powerful. Do you remember members of The Shrine, Cecil Norde’ and Sharon Walker Norde’? Happy New Year!

  3. It really feels like America and the world is on the verge of another explosive shift like in the sixties (or worse, the thirties/forties). Will it have the same far-reaching and lasting effects like it did in the past? For better or for worse I think we’re going to find out soon.
