  1. Interesting photo and poses. My eyes are drawn to the child and puppies, but then I keep returning to the men and where they are looking and then it’s back to the child.

  2. Such a great photograph to match this week’s theme, with the detail in the men (their hats, ties and expressions) , the little girl with the big bow in her hair, and the puppy.

  3. What a great photo! That puppy is just adorable too! I posted about a forgotten story as well, beginning from the Clotilde shipwreck!

  4. Such a great photo. It’s begging you to pay attention. The photographer couldn’t have “staged” it better. So full of line and interest and focus – on the child and the puppies and the audience.

  5. The more I look at this photo, the more I like it – so much detail. I wondered whether the two men on the outside were concerned whether the little girl was squashing one of the puppies.

  6. Great photo to suit this week’s theme. Is the little girl related to one of the men?

    1. I’m glad you asked that question! I went back and looked at the identifications under the photograph and saw that she was “Edoline”. Edoline was Lowndes’ niece, oldest daughter of his sister Emiline and her husband Edgar Spigener. Edoline was born in 1911 so we can date the photo about 1914 or so. She looks about 3 to me. If I didn’t have this horrible cold I would write more. I guess when I recover I’ll have to go back and expand my last couple of posts.

  7. I love how first the one fellow shows a white sock, the next shows a dark sock, and the last says, “You’re not seein’ my socks!”

  8. It is indeed a perfect picture. I was drawn to the three contrasting expressions on their faces, between them they seem to display such a variety of emotions.

  9. Perfect match for the prompt photo and I’m glad you managed to identify Edoline since your original post; you did a great job on that one too.

    1. The name was there on the bottom of the photo all the time but I spent yesterday doing some more research on my grandfather’s friends and I found the names of the daughters and realized Edoline was Lowndes niece.

  10. I’ve always said you had a picture for every occasion
and you prove it once more!!
The “awh” factor for me is the kid with the puppies.
    Nicely done Kristin, as usual!!

    1. Thanks Tickle! Good to see you out making the rounds. I am afraid I am going to run out of trios in hats before we are done with these themes.
